XVIIIth Century Coach Sculpture. Limited Edition – Lladro

This great saloon in the Baroque style is inspired by the original models housed at the Coach Museum in Lisbon, and is one of the most complex and ambitious works by artists of the Lladró High Porcelain workshop. It is an example of extraordinarily beautiful, dainty ornamentation. The nobles of the European courts extended the magnificence of their palaces to the streets with these magnificent carriages. In this limited edition, attention is given to everything, down to the smallest detail: the four horses, servants´ uniforms, the gowns of the couple, and, above all, the decoration of the carriage. Some fifty different colours were used in its decoration and the application required roughly a hundred hours of painstaking work by the artists. The completion of each piece requires the participation of more than twenty different specialists who together, devote about 300 hours to the task. The result is a single piece which, once fired, is over a metre long and weighs around twenty kilograms.

Lladro High Porcelain, Kwan Yin Sculpture. Limited Edition
This High Porcelain limited edition brings a revered goddess to life, recreating a novel colour scheme of healing light, which releases ¨she who hears the lament of the world¨. According to a common Chinese belief, Kwan Yin lives on the island of Pu-tuo-shan, where her temple is surrounded by a lake of violet light which cures the ailments of all who bathe in its waters. It is said she will not rest until all human beings are freed from their suffering. The image of the goddess is decorated with innovative colours such as hues of purple and mauve and the metallic gold and aged silver of the forest flowers, never before used in a Lladró piece. For the remainder of the piece, hues in a harmonious green and yellow colour scheme have been employed.

If there is one essential character in the history of animation and in the hearts of children all over the world, then that is Mickey Mouse. And always by the side of the world’s most famous mouse is his inseparable companion, the adorable Minnie. They debuted together in 1928 in what is now considered Disney’s first resounding success. The coquettish Minnie Mouse is the main character in this piece which now joins Lladró’s Disney collection. Made in matte and glazed porcelain and decorated in pink tones with iridescent touches.
Lladro Goddess Durga Sculpture. Limited Edition
"Portraying Durga, the goddess who alleviates the suffering of all people on Earth, who protects the righteous and establishes benevolence and order, was both a challenge and an honor for Lladró artists. Made in a combination of glazed and matte porcelain, Durga is depicted sitting on the back of a spectacular tiger with striking blue eyes, symbolizing the goddess’s will and determination. The eight arms with which she is portrayed, each one holding a symbol of the different powers given to her by the gods, seem to have a movement of their own, while the goddess’s body and face convey a sense of peace and compassion. The composition is decorated with the signature deep red color of Hindu iconography and a spectrum of colors that includes faded browns, turquoises and mauves. These tonalities are enhanced by the use of carefully applied golden luster and a garland of flowers made up of 280 white and 7 pink petals, in addition to the delicate lotus flower she is holding in one of her hands. All these flowers are handmade, petal by petal."
Lladro Protective Dragon (Golden) – Special Edition
oriental mythology, Protective Dragon is a High Porcelain creation, in a limited edition of 777 units to commemorate Lladró’s seven decades. A symbol of strength, protection and good luck, this legendary being, existing in ancient oriental cultures, wards off evil spirits, protects the innocent and provides safety to all those who possess it. This special edition stands out for its striking decoration, with a special mention for the golden luster combined with details in blue and red enamels. The hundreds of scales covering the dragon’s skin are minutely hand-painted one by one. The undulating shape of this complex sculpture is reminiscent of the figure eight, the number of good luck in oriental culture.

Lladro Guardian Lion Sculpture. Blue. Limited Edition
For thousands of years, these majestic creatures have represented the best omens in Eastern culture. Artists at the Lladró High Porcelain workshop have recreated this ancient tradition in these limited edition pieces, richly decorated with lustres and various textures and finishes. These lions, inspired by traditional statues of bronze, iron or granite which flank the doors of palaces, temples and noble houses in various Eastern countries, are presented in pairs and protect the buildings from evil spirits. Seen from the front, the male is located on the right and takes care of the structure, represented by the ball he holds with his leg, while the female is located on the left and cares for the inhabitants. This lion is paired with the guardian lioness (blue) and there are two other decorative versions. Blue tones are predominant, in addition to border in gold lustre with alternating gloss and matte finishes. Artists of the High Porcelain workshop recreate and embellish every detail of the piece, such as the elaborate ornamentation of the skirts and chest plates, the introduction of the necklace as a decorative element and the lavish modelling of the manes and tails. Authentic filigree work makes these impressive sculptures a work halfway between the thousand-year-old tradition and the maker´s creation
Hina Dolls – Empress Sculpture. Limited Edition – Lladro
Hina Dolls - Empress is an exquisite piece of High Porcelain with delicate and meticulous embellishment, inspired by an ancient Japanese tradition. It is a piece destined to become a veritable family heirloom. This empress represents one of the leading figures of Hina Ningyo, a composition of figures placed upon a stage, where girls are given away in Japan every 3 March at the feast of Hina Matsuri to assure them a happy life. This limited edition, which pays careful attention to the smallest details of the garments worn by emperors of the Japanese court during the Heian period, forms a pair with Hina Dolls - Emperor. On a decorative level, the reproduction of the richness of embroidered fabrics is highlighted, as is the image of traditional Japanese fabric simulating Damascus silk, which transforms the piece into a little jewel. In terms of its the richness of the colour palette, this creation surpasses the classic Lladró palette and introduces more intense colours. The dark colour of the dress and the decorative details in three tones are emphasised, applied by hand through a painstaking process which enables them to stand out against such an intense background.
