Mickey’s body is decorated with a shiny platinum luster, on which we can see a black flower in porcelain, handcrafted petal by petal. The piece rests on a black porcelain base with a design of geometric facets. Lladro Guardian Lion Sculpture. Red. Limited Edition
For thousands of years, these majestic creatures have represented the best omens in Eastern culture. Artists at the Lladró High Porcelain workshop have recreated this ancient tradition in these limited edition pieces, richly decorated with lustres and various textures and finishes. Lladro Goddess Durga Sculpture. Limited Edition
"Portraying Durga, the goddess who alleviates the suffering of all people on Earth, who protects the righteous and establishes benevolence and order, was both a challenge and an honor for Lladró artists. Made in a combination of glazed and matte porcelain, Durga is depicted sitting on the back of a spectacular tiger with striking blue eyes, symbolizing the goddess’s will and determination. The eight arms with which she is portrayed, each one holding a symbol of the different powers given to her by the gods, seem to have a movement of their own, while the goddess’s body and face convey a sense of peace and compassion. The composition is decorated with the signature deep red color of Hindu iconography and a spectrum of colors that includes faded browns, turquoises and mauves. These tonalities are enhanced by the use of carefully applied golden luster and a garland of flowers made up of 280 white and 7 pink petals, in addition to the delicate lotus flower she is holding in one of her hands. All these flowers are handmade, petal by petal."

This High Porcelain limited edition brings a revered goddess to life, recreating a novel colour scheme of healing light, which releases ¨she who hears the lament of the world¨. According to a common Chinese belief, Kwan Yin lives on the island of Pu-tuo-shan, where her temple is surrounded by a lake of violet light which cures the ailments of all who bathe in its waters. It is said she will not rest until all human beings are freed from their suffering. The image of the goddess is decorated with innovative colours such as hues of purple and mauve and the metallic gold and aged silver of the forest flowers, never before used in a Lladró piece. For the remainder of the piece, hues in a harmonious green and yellow colour scheme have been employed.
