XVIIIth Century Coach Sculpture. Limited Edition – Lladro

This great saloon in the Baroque style is inspired by the original models housed at the Coach Museum in Lisbon, and is one of the most complex and ambitious works by artists of the LladrĆ³ High Porcelain workshop. It is an example of extraordinarily beautiful, dainty ornamentation. The nobles of the European courts extended the magnificence of their palaces to the streets with these magnificent carriages. In this limited edition, attention is given to everything, down to the smallest detail: the four horses, servantsĀ“ uniforms, the gowns of the couple, and, above all, the decoration of the carriage. Some fifty different colours were used in its decoration and the application required roughly a hundred hours of painstaking work by the artists. The completion of each piece requires the participation of more than twenty different specialists who together, devote about 300 hours to the task. The result is a single piece which, once fired, is over a metre long and weighs around twenty kilograms.

Hina Dolls - Empress is an exquisite piece of High Porcelain with delicate and meticulous embellishment, inspired by an ancient Japanese tradition. It is a piece destined to become a veritable family heirloom. This empress represents one of the leading figures of Hina Ningyo, a composition of figures placed upon a stage, where girls are given away in Japan every 3 March at the feast of Hina Matsuri to assure them a happy life. This limited edition, which pays careful attention to the smallest details of the garments worn by emperors of the Japanese court during the Heian period, forms a pair with Hina Dolls - Emperor. On a decorative level, the reproduction of the richness of embroidered fabrics is highlighted, as is the image of traditional Japanese fabric simulating Damascus silk, which transforms the piece into a little jewel. In terms of its the richness of the colour palette, this creation surpasses the classic LladrĆ³ palette and introduces more intense colours. The dark colour of the dress and the decorative details in three tones are emphasised, applied by hand through a painstaking process which enables them to stand out against such an intense background.
Lladro Lord Shiva Sculpture. Limited Edition
Lord Shiva, the Hindu god of meditation and the arts, in a sculpture made in High Porcelain, LladrĆ³Ās maximum artistic category. A piece that boasts many complex decorative techniques, like golden luster, and a large amount of handmade flowers made petal by petal. ShivaĀs attributes are finely defined with a host of details enhancing his majestic character: the trident, the drum, the snake, the bands of Rudraksha and the bun in his hair. The hundreds of scales covering its skin are individually hand painted with gold lustre, an extremely laborious technique requiring the expertise of the finest artists. The luminosity distinguishing its spectacular embellishment is attained by combining gloss and satin finishes, united by an iridescent metallic hue on the chest and a vivid turquoise hue on the crest. The complexity of the dragonĀ“s shape and the tremendous number of tiny details make the process of its creation extremely difficult, from the modelling of the original sculpture through to its final firing in the kiln.
