The splendour of the old Spanish court has inspired this limited edition, in which artists of the Lladró High Porcelain workshop demonstrate their mastery of relief with a complex and exquisitely decorated composition on various planes. Rendering elegant ladies in bucolic gardens is an element of an ancient artistic tradition, with its most prominent moments during Rococo and Romanticism. In this creation, Lladró reinterprets this classic theme and elevates it to the category of High Porcelain with a piece that stands out for its masterly treatment of depth, and its sophistication and delicate treatment of the floral embellishment enveloping this vase of over 60 centimetres in height.

Lladro Radha Krishna on a Swing Sculpture. Limited Edition
The love between Radha and Krishna has given rise to some wonderful fables and their story is an important part of major Hindu celebrations like Jhulan Yatra, the festival of swings. After the summer heat, when the clouds float high in the sky, the Brajwasi celebrate the arrival of the first rains. With the onset of monsoon season, ponds and lakes fill with rainwater, lotus flowers blossom, the air is scented with a pleasant fragrance and the forests of Vrindavan are decorated with wonderful jhula, like the one on which Radha and Krishna swing in this High Porcelain creation. Following tradition, the swing is finely decorated with many flowers which, like the garland worn by Krishna, have all been handmade one by one, with over 200 petals. The costumes worn by Radha and Krishna signify their spiritual importance and Lladró artists have recreated them in minute detail. From the jewelry, etched by hand and decorated with golden and copper luster, to the embroidery of the fabrics or the decoration applied by hand combining deep rich colors like orange and blue. Radha Krishna on a Swing is a creation that seems to float in the air, suspended over a wood base. A symbol of strength, protection and good luck, this legendary being, existing in ancient oriental cultures, wards off evil spirits, protects the innocent and provides safety to all those who possess it. This special edition stands out for its striking decoration, with a special mention for the golden luster combined with details in blue and red enamels. The hundreds of scales covering the dragon’s skin are minutely hand-painted one by one. The undulating shape of this complex sculpture is reminiscent of the figure eight, the number of good luck in oriental culture.

A symbol of power and prosperity in Eastern culture, this magical creature, the bearer of good luck, is the protagonist in this spectacular High Porcelain limited edition. The hundreds of scales covering its skin are individually hand painted in different shades of blue, which gives it a special shine and which is an extremely laborious technique requiring the expertise of the finest artists. The luminosity distinguishing its spectacular embellishment is attained by combining gloss and satin finishes. The complexity of the dragon´s shape and the great number of small details make the process of its creation extremely difficult, from the modelling of the original sculpture through to its final firing in the kiln.

Lladro Goddess Durga Sculpture. Limited Edition
"Portraying Durga, the goddess who alleviates the suffering of all people on Earth, who protects the righteous and establishes benevolence and order, was both a challenge and an honor for Lladró artists. Made in a combination of glazed and matte porcelain, Durga is depicted sitting on the back of a spectacular tiger with striking blue eyes, symbolizing the goddess’s will and determination. The eight arms with which she is portrayed, each one holding a symbol of the different powers given to her by the gods, seem to have a movement of their own, while the goddess’s body and face convey a sense of peace and compassion. The composition is decorated with the signature deep red color of Hindu iconography and a spectrum of colors that includes faded browns, turquoises and mauves. These tonalities are enhanced by the use of carefully applied golden luster and a garland of flowers made up of 280 white and 7 pink petals, in addition to the delicate lotus flower she is holding in one of her hands. All these flowers are handmade, petal by petal."
