Lladro Great Dragon Sculpture. Blue enamel. Limited Edition

A symbol of power and prosperity in Eastern culture, this magical creature, the bearer of good luck, is the protagonist in this spectacular High Porcelain limited edition. The hundreds of scales covering its skin are individually hand painted in different shades of blue, which gives it a special shine and which is an extremely laborious technique requiring the expertise of the finest artists. The luminosity distinguishing its spectacular embellishment is attained by combining gloss and satin finishes. The complexity of the dragon´s shape and the great number of small details make the process of its creation extremely difficult, from the modelling of the original sculpture through to its final firing in the kiln.

Lladro Guardian Lioness Sculpture. Blue. Limited Edition
For thousands of years, these majestic creatures have represented the best omens in Eastern culture. Artists at the Lladró High Porcelain workshop have recreated this ancient tradition in these limited edition pieces, richly decorated with lustres and various textures and finishes. These lions, inspired by traditional statues of bronze, iron or granite which flank the doors of palaces, temples and noble houses in various Eastern countries, are presented in pairs and protect the buildings from evil spirits. Seen from the front, the male is located on the right and takes care of the structure, represented by the ball he holds with his leg, while the female is located on the left and cares for the inhabitants. Artists of the High Porcelain workshop recreate and embellish every detail of the piece, such as the elaborate ornamentation of the skirts and chest plates, the introduction of the necklace as a decorative element and the lavish modelling of the manes and tails. Authentic filigree work makes these impressive sculptures a work halfway between the thousand-year-old tradition and the maker´s creation.
Lladro Lord Shiva Sculpture. Limited Edition
Lord Shiva, the Hindu god of meditation and the arts, in a sculpture made in High Porcelain, Lladrós maximum artistic category. A piece that boasts many complex decorative techniques, like golden luster, and a large amount of handmade flowers made petal by petal. Shivas attributes are finely defined with a host of details enhancing his majestic character: the trident, the drum, the snake, the bands of Rudraksha and the bun in his hair. The base provides room for the optional piece Lingam (01001981), a symbol used to worship Shiva and to overcome any situation that impedes personal growth.

Made in matte and glazed porcelain, it is decorated with lots of details in golden luster and metallic treatments in the clothing, the chariot and the horses. The elaborate ornamentation includes floral decoration, particularly the garland worn by Krishna, made up of 172 flowers, handmade petal by petal. This powerful character dressed in a spectacular costume is a limited edition of 250 units in High Porcelain, the category for the most exclusive pieces created at the Lladró workshops. The decoration of the piece also boasts a rich spectrum of colors, with a special mention for the metallic tones of the skirt, which called for a highly specific and complex application. Equally of note are the various finishes used to underscore the details and the striking recreation of the make-up covering the actor’s face. Lladro Mickey in black and white Sculpture
This creation is based on a contemporary vision of Mickey Mouse. The creative approach is based on animation techniques and brushwork in black and white ink. Here Mickey is decorated with drawings hand-painted on the porcelain that represent some of the most outstanding themes in Lladró’s imagery, such as love, nature and magic. The drawings also feature in the decoration of his t-shirt, his famous gloves, socks and shoes, all executed with great precision and at once in a light-hearted charming fashion. The black and white decoration is set off by a few well-chosen touches of golden luster in his nose or the keys hanging from his waist, the keys which Mickey uses to open hearts. Because if there is one character capable of speaking of goodness and love, then that is Mickey Mouse, and this is especially true in this creation.
Lladro Radha Krishna on a Swing Sculpture. Limited Edition
The love between Radha and Krishna has given rise to some wonderful fables and their story is an important part of major Hindu celebrations like Jhulan Yatra, the festival of swings. After the summer heat, when the clouds float high in the sky, the Brajwasi celebrate the arrival of the first rains. With the onset of monsoon season, ponds and lakes fill with rainwater, lotus flowers blossom, the air is scented with a pleasant fragrance and the forests of Vrindavan are decorated with wonderful jhula, like the one on which Radha and Krishna swing in this High Porcelain creation. Following tradition, the swing is finely decorated with many flowers which, like the garland worn by Krishna, have all been handmade one by one, with over 200 petals. The costumes worn by Radha and Krishna signify their spiritual importance and Lladró artists have recreated them in minute detail. From the jewelry, etched by hand and decorated with golden and copper luster, to the embroidery of the fabrics or the decoration applied by hand combining deep rich colors like orange and blue. Radha Krishna on a Swing is a creation that seems to float in the air, suspended over a wood base. In this way, the divine couple rock back and forth forever on their legendary swing, conveying to the world their divine love.
